Warren College Activity Fee Referendum

Do you approve an increase in the Warren College Activity Fee by $3.45 per undergraduate student per quarter, effective Fall Quarter 2019 (for a total of $12.00 per undergraduate student per quarter), to expand and increase student events and traditions, and increase funding for Warren College clubs and student organizations?

In accordance with University policies, 29% of this fee increase ($1.00) will return to UC San Diego to help meet the financial aid needs of undergraduate students.

71% of this fee increase ($2.45) will be used to expand and increase student events and traditions, and increase funding for Warren College clubs and student organizations. This would include, but not be limited to:

  • Increase the production value of the current annual event, Warren Live
  • Greater ability to combat food insecurity through the Triton Food Pantry and food giveaways
  • Increase the production value of the current annual event, Warren Spring Carnival
  • New Warren Career and Alumni Fair that creates networking opportunities for current students
  • More funding to Warren College Clubs and Student Organizations, allowing them to have bigger and more effective events

The Warren College Activity Fee is currently $8.55 per student per quarter, and is subject to an annual increase based on the California Consumer Price Index. If this referendum is approved, effective immediately the fee will no longer be subject to an annual CPI adjustment. Instead, the fee will increase a fixed 10% every five years. The first fixed increase will occur in Fall 2024 (from $12 per quarter to $13.20 per quarter), and then every five years after that. Neither the increase nor existing Warren College Activity Fee will be assessed during summer sessions.

If this fee referendum is approved and implemented, the Warren College Activity Fee would be $12.00 per undergraduate student per quarter, effective Fall Quarter 2019.
